A natural person (Swedish: fysisk person) is an individual human being, as opposed to a legal entity such as a limited company or an association. In Sweden a natural person is normally identified by their personal identity number (personnummer).
A shareholder can be either a natural person or a legal entity. For each owner, the share ledger must state, among other things, name, personal or company registration number and postal address. Only natural persons can be a beneficial owner, which differs from being shareholder of record.
