A private limited company is the most common form of limited company in Sweden. Its shares may not be offered to the public or traded on an exchange. The minimum share capital is SEK 25,000 (since 2020).
The opposite is a public limited company, which may offer shares to the public and has higher capital requirements. Almost all companies with unlisted shares are private limited companies.
